Go to BED!!!

I'm not ready for kids that stay up late. I just cannot handle that yet. I need a few more years of kids that go to bed at 7, when I tell them to. But, that is not gonna happen...Faith and Hyrum are now 10 and 8 1/2 years old and they are night owls.

Last night I put the kids to bed at 8:15 and Hyrum was sure mad. He thought that since they are on Spring Break he should get to stay up as late as he wants. Okay, I totally understand that, but really I need a break from kids sometime. So, I ignored his begging to stay up late and I shut them all in their rooms. Nephi and I fell asleep on the couch and I was woken up at 9:15 by Hyrum and Faith saying they were bored and couldn't sleep. I tried for the next 30 minutes to force them to go to bed, but with no success. I totally admit it, I am a pushover and I really don't follow thru as much as I should and the kids know that. So, I caved. I started on the computer, working on my homework for my music class and while I did it, Hyrum was sitting on the kitchen table. I looked over and he was drawing a moustache on his face. It was really funny. Then I gave him a marker and he started to draw a beard. By this point Faith and I were dying laughing at him. He was loving being the entertainer and he just kept coloring. By the end his face was covered in gray marker and then David walked in from his practice. Poor David was confused. I think he thought that I was not quite paying attention to Hyrum, little did he know that I had actually handed over the marker to Hyrum so that he would leave me alone for a few minutes while I worked on my homework. I thought it was no big deal, we are on spring break from school and church isn't for a few more days so I was sure that it would eventually wear off. Good news: it washed off in the sink, but not before I snapped a few pictures!!

You kill me. I get the kids to bed early. Since we moved here we're lucky to get the three girls all asleep by 9 mostly so they can see Daddy. Those hours of peace are needed!
