Party time

For my birthday this year there were only 2 things I wanted - and they kinda went together. I wanted to have a birthday party that we could dance at with all the kids and I wanted David to sing to me. I thought it sounded pretty easy and reasonable.

David agreed and my wonderful parents helped to organize it - actually Nancy did most of the work and we got a bunch of friends to pitch in and help with set up and clean up.

The only bummer: I didn't take any pictures!!! Oh I am so bummed!! Anyone with pictures, I would love copies. You can email them to me at kacicox@hotmail.com or you can send in the mail. Let me know if you need an address.

I went to the church in the morning and helped set up. Then I picked up kids from school and we came home and visited with Grandma & Grandpa Cox and Aunt Susi. We headed over to the church and finished setting up and getting the food ready. Then we had to run back home and pick up the kids and headed back to the party. We ate lasagna, salad and bread and had yummy cake for dessert.

The only difficult part of the day was when my dad had to go and have a procedure on his heart. Lucky for us the procedure went well, no problems were found and he and Nancy made it to the party just a few minutes late.

After dinner Jarrod (my brother) sang a song that was beautiful. Then David sang 2 of my favorite songs: "This is the Moment" from Jekyll and Hyde and "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. It was awesome! I have it recorded on my digital recorder - just have to figure out how to get it on my computer.

Following the singing we danced - well first we talked, then we danced. It was great to see so many people there. I am so grateful to everyone who came and I am SO very grateful to Nancy and my dad and all their planning, hard work and financing. As for everyone who was there to set up and clean up, THANK YOU!! Thanks for making it memorable and fun for my family. The kids had a great time and loved the dancing and singing.

To quote one of my kids (can't remember which one): "That was the best party EVER!!"
